Reusable Sanitary Products
You may not be aware, but it takes a tampon longer to degrade than the lifespan of the women who wears it and the average woman will use over 11,000 disposable, one-time-use menstrual products in her reproductive lifetime.
Periods as we know them are totally unsustainable as most leading brand menstrual products contain synthetic materials including rayon, plastics and artificial absorbents that are non-biodegradable.
Most sanitary pads contain up to 90% plastic, while tampons have plastic applicators and sometimes come in individual plastic wrappers. The production of plastic and improper disposal of these products is causing increased pollution and filling up landfills.
But there is an answer,
We are now proud stockists of Reusable Sanitary Towels. Each towel is backed with PUL (a waterproof yet breathable material also used in cloth nappies)
Each pad comes with a waterproof Wet Bag for out and about.
Reusable Sanitary Pad and Wet Bag
1 x Standard – 24-25cm in length. These are recommended for moderate flow and would be the equivalent to a normal/size 1 Always Ultra INCLUDES 1 x Waterproof Wet Bag – UK Delivery Included
Absorbency wise, each pad is lined with Zorb (a thin, super thirsty, hypo-allergenic material that absorbs 20 times faster than other materials and holds 10 times its weight)
Top layers are always a darker colour to avoid staining. These pads have a soft and absorbent natural cotton topper. The use of cotton also makes the pads thinner.
You can was your CSP along with your usual laundry although it is recommended that you do not use fabric conditioner as this will affect the absorbency of the materials. If your pads are heavily soiled, it is recommended that you rinse them before washing, either in the machine or by hand. They are best line dried as tumble drying may affect the shape.Hopefully that will answer most of your questions. If you do need to know anything else, please do not hesitate to send me a message
